Just when you think you have seen it all the crew from Checkered Flag Productions has put together another huge show with those awesome Monster Trucks, “Monster Trucks are a great show by themselves but we always add something extra,” said Lisa Line CFP spokesperson. The March indoor Monster Trucks was one of the best shows ever, it featured not only monster trucks but also local drivers driving cars in a roll over contest, it was total carnage and the spectators loved it. We are bringing that show and more to this event.

Famous trucks led by 2012 National Champion BIGFOOT plus GHOST RYDER, 57 CHEVY, OUTTAH CONTROL; MONKEY N ROUND will be racing and crushing cars, vans, and more. It is only one night, Saturday June 23 at 7:30pm with the MONSTER TRUCK SUMMER NATIONALS in front of the METRA Grandstand there is plenty of room for all sorts of mayhem and destruction. Tuff Truck obstacle course racing, plus a Roll Over Contest for local drivers for those who are brave enough to roll a car on purpose! There is nothing like watching car crashes happen in front of your eyes. Bring your snap shot camera, there is going to be plenty of Kodak moments!

Beckley has crashed the last 2 out of 3 times he has jumped. He jumped in Salt Lake January 6th, 2012 and hit face first into the landing ramp and spent 4 days in intensive care and trauma. He is 61 years old but he acts like mid 30′s, and he has a new 2000cc Ultima Harley powered specially built motorcycle by BTR MOTO in California. He recently just went thru months of pneumonia and is now in the GYM getting in shape for what could be his last jumps. He is BIG Ed Beckley the CEO and owner of Checkered Flag and everyone that works here has tried to talk him out of this crazy jumping in Billings but he says,” My friends in Billings mean allot to me, I need to do this. My friends are behind me and I am ready to fly this beautiful motorcycle.  I am going to hold on tight till my knuckles turn white but I am going to attempt this jump!”

The crew from Checkered Flag has been kinda antsy with no shows since Pocatello so we cannot wait to get to Greeley, Colorado for our first outdoor show of the year Saturday June 16th in honoring Fathers Day weekend.

Round #1 of the Summer Nationals and Thrill Show will begin at the Greeley Stampede Rodeo Arena which is huge with some awesome dirt that makes one heck of a track.   We are bringing a huge show there for Fathers Day Weekend and the crew is ready to bring a show like no other.

These drivers will be in hot competition on a huge track which they will actually make a lap with a turning course while racing over cars!  No where in Colorado have they ever seen such a Monster Truck track.  Each truck will also compete in a wheelie contest and freestyle car crushing contests, this will show us what these Monsters are made of and who is the most agressive driver.  Wait till you see what we are bringing for them to climb and crush!!

Wait till you see our motorcycle stuntman!   He is 6ft 2inches tall – weighs 320lbs – and has been a motorcycle stuntman off and on since 1973 he is 61 years old and for all the Fathers BIG Ed Beckley the World’s Largest Motorcycle Jumper will fire-up his all new and custom built 2000cc Harley Jump bike and attempt to launch it over a line of cars.

Beckley has crashed the last 2 out of 3 times he has jumped.  Recently he began a comeback tour that got off to a rocky start.  Friday January 5th in Salt Lake – Beckley crashed bad and spent 2 days in intensive care and then 2 days in trauma and then told him he was leaving the hospital because they could find nothing wrong with him other than he had deathly pneumonia.   After that Bcckley contacted a custom fabricator from California, Curt Winter.   Winter is an artist with metal and he first began the project with a 127cubic inch 2000cc Ultima Harley engine for power.   Ed said the other bike did not have enough power, he will not have to worry about that anymore.  The bike is done and Beckley has been going to the gym to be able to handle this beast.   The question is will BECKLEY make history or be history?  By the way this same Beckley is Ed Beckley the owner and CEO of Checkered Flag and all the staff has tried to talk him out of it but he is determined!

Tuff Truck competition gives the local hot rodders a chance to be in the show.  Street legal cars, pick-ups, and dune buggies  negotiate around the track racing against the stopwatch.  Tuff Trucks are always entertaining.

ATV 4 wheelers will be racing also.  Two classes of racing they are open amateur and open pro riders and anyone over 14years old with their parents co-signing they can race.

Larry Swim who has been driving a Monster Truck for over 10 years is the only 3 time Grand National Champion and he did it with some of the smoothest moves ever!  Team BIGFOOT is proud of him and they are happy about this title as it heavily ways on sponsorship and the noteriety of this title is only second to the World Finals held by Monster Jam.

The Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho is the host for this huge event,  and the venue lives up to the challenge with a huge football size floor and maybe even a little extra length with no seating on the ends.  The huge factor get’s ate up pretty quick with a race track like we built this year with drivers going across the finish line and nearly 70mph!

Larry won the first two years he was in the BAD BOY truck which was in 2009 -2010 but got edged out last year after a broken front axle destroyed a safety piece and it could not be repaired.  This year it was all about coming back to Pocatello to get revenge and keep that title heading back to St. Louis where BIGFOOT’s headquarters are.

Finishing second was Rob French in the IRON HORSE and third was Larrry Quick in GHOST RYDER.

This was French’s third time to finish second and it was basically all mechanical problems that took him out.  He needs some good luck bad.

The HOLT ARENA has never hosted such a wild event as we bring them every year and once more we think we have risen the bar.  Several things we will change made a list that we are going to adhere to so we can have a tighter show that starts and we do not finish this event so late.

This is the schedule as we know it:

7:15pm Introduction of dignitaries, monster truck drivers, and the CFP crew.  
1. Start on Time 7:30pm (that means even if the crowd is lined up outside the National Anthem will begin at 7:30 with Monster Truck Wheelie contest right after that.  In the past we have waited and waited for everyone that arrived late to get into the building and that is not happening this year.  They better be in their seats by 7:30pm or they will miss start of the show. 

2. Wheelie Contest
This  contest is where the drivers use the power of the truck and the balance of the driver to see who can put the truck vertical sticking the front wheels in the air and the tailgate in the dirt and then try to drive across the floor impressing the judges!  We will use the Wheelie Contest to set up the racing brackets so it is very important. 

3. Tuff Truck Round #1
While we are bracketing  the race trucks we will run the tuff trucks one round.   Be ready with your cameras these guys and gals launch these trucks! 

4.  Side by Side Monster Truck Racing  
The monsters line up in two’s side by side  and this year’s track features a mud bog made just for the monsters.  After they negotiate that they make a J-Hook turn and head back to the where they started and finish there after racing over 3 jumps progressively getting larger to the last one.  The last jump is their finish line.  Now remember each truck starts out and finishes opposite direction than the other one!   Two trucks in the air at the finish line racing for a Championship!  We will race these trucks bracket after bracket until we have a racing Champion.  

Intermission
Monster Ride Trucks are on the floor and you have  access to the floor by using the concrete ramps to go down on the floor from the East end opposite of where the trucks pit.  $10 cash per person to ride the ride truck.
We will be also setting up the track for freestyle competition.

5.  HOT ROD TRUCK N TRACTOR PULLING
Several competition classes will hook onto what they call the sled.   That sled is a 50 thousand pound specially built trailer that tests the driver and the machine as they open up the throttles until the engines are screaming and the tires are spinning and the front wheels are up in the air.  It is a wild sight and the first time ever to see truck n tractor pulling as part of the Grand Nationals.  

6. Tuff Truck Final Round
The drivers have one more chance to quicken their times and they will be surely going all out to make it to the top of the ladder!

7.  MONSTER TRUCK FREESTYLE
All 10 trucks will attempt to sway the judges and the crowd as they jump high, pop wheelies, spin the truck doing donuts, and then attacking what is all on the floor which by far we have brought the most cars and vans than we have ever had there.   There is also a railroad box car, it just got crazy when we were ordering the cars all of a sudden they mention a box car…………we took it!!!   Only one truck at a time will be in competition with judges and officials watching to help judge this important part of the Championship.  

We are striving on finishing around 10:30pm so hold tight –  because this is going to be wild, fast and furious!!  

By the way the Ride Trucks will be running after the show also.

First time I met Steve Roman I was almost shocked.   He was friendly, well spoken, clean, direct, smiled, and just did not act like your usual Pro Mx rider, oh yes did I forget to tell you he left his ego somewhere?  

Steve Roman has been riding dirt bikes for a long time.  It is his passion and his life.  

When not racing he is training or practicing but he usually has a set of handlebars in his hands.  

Injuries, they seem to be part of the business.  He has been involved in several but keeps the doctors faith by always getting well and keeping his doctor’s orders until it is time to go!  

Racers, they know when it is time to go.  They know when they are hurt and weak and they also know when they are not hurt or they can do something instead of lieing around.  Roman he has that sixth sense but he also has a dad and a mom that watch him and keep him down as long as they can so he will heal!   That has to be a huge labor of love to keep Steve Roman down.  

Roman has raced for many different series, we are proud he picked ours.  What he says about our series is we pay the money and our tracks are good and he is particularly fond of our catapult jump.  ”It is like a supercross jump that is straight up and you are flying nearly 70 feet while nearly 40 feet in the air.  The spectators like it and not everyone can or will jump it so it is an advantage to me because I am used to it where some of the top pro riders in the nation shake their heads and double it,” Roman knows where to beat em.  

This year he raced in Charlotte then Chicago after that Dallas and then back home to Indiana, PA inside the Kovalchick Center in front of thousands of his home town crowd and they were there to see their hometown guy get a National title and he did!  

Congratulations Mr. Steve Roman you and your Yamaha are a credit to the world of motocross and we are glad you are the 2012  Bad Boys of Arenacross Champion!

10 trucks going for two titles in one night.

Some have qualified for the National Championship and some have not.   Trucks running for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP are BIGFOOT BAD BOY, IRON HORSE,  GHOST RYDER, and DARE DEVIL.   Racing for the Pocatello Championship will be all these 4 trucks plus BARS LEAK ELIMINATOR, RISLONE DEFENDER, CALIFORNIA KIDD, and ROCK STAR.   What a wild and crazy line-up of trucks that will insure one of the best shows ever inside the huge HOLT ARENA!

Not only do we have all these Monsters but we also have the IDAHO HOT ROD TRUCK N TRACTOR PULL CHAMPIONSHIPS!  This is the first time ever they have been part of our huge event and this just gave the spectators that special treat we always strive for.   Hookem’ to a 50,000 weight transfer sled and turn all the horsepower loose!

Tuff Trucks are a big hit in Pocatello and we are signing up them now for a limited amount of competitors.

This is going to be a great event if you are within 500 miles of this place you need to be here – this show is worth it.   There is real racing and real competition and a real Champions compete for the win and we are proud to have a legitimate Championship in Idaho where there is so much room we can let these drivers get it on!!

With thousands of pounds of dirt going into the building today it is excited the day has come.   Races begin this weekend on Friday night.   Friday night and Saturday night will finally crown a champion as it has been way too long.   Starting Jan 5th in Charlotte, North Carolina and then circled the United States to where it ended inside this beautiful place they call the KOLAVCHICK Arena and do not miss one day of this.   We are racing Friday and Saturday nights at 730pm and Sunday afternoon at 2pm and they are ready to put some knobby marks on the next rider if that is what it takes to win!
