Barbarian gets fan coverage in Garden City!
Wow check this out….

The newspaper came out and took photos and did a nice write-up with photos of driver Darren Mingues, CFP’s CEO Ed Beckley, and manager John Mazzola. The CFP Winter Nationals will be inside this new facility mid March and already there is a huge buzz in the area about this new coliseum and new events for the market area.

Finney County Fairgrounds in Garden City, Kansas race dates are this Friday and Saturday Sept 3rd and 4th at 7:30pm each night.

Garden City is like a home track for us at Checkered Flag Productions. We have our office in Dodge City and also in Texas but we began this whole thing (CFP) in Scott City, Kansas which is just 35 miles north of Garden City. We have a huge crowd there in Garden City that comes from miles to see these drivers go the extra for the fans.

This year the line-up of stars is awesome. Darren Mingus will be driving the BAD BOY BIGFOOT who is the two time NATIONAL CHAMPION (2009-2010). Darren and his big right foot will be leading the charge in the legendary big blue truck BIGFOOT. Darren has been driving for Team Bigfoot for a couple of months for the usual driver Larry Swim. Swim was injured in a race in California about two months ago and is not released to go racing as of yet. Darren has been driving the BOUNTY HUNTER truck and just now stepped into the BAD BOY. In the last two shows he has stretched Bigfoot’s winnings and his freestyle is awesome! BAD BOY BIGFOOT is relatively the same as the other BIGFOOT’s traveling around but this one seems to have an attitude. Maybe this truck and it’s attitude pushes the drivers to be on the edge with a more aggressive style of driving but one thing about it BIGFOOT has a driver that will push this truck while Swim heals up.

The other trucks on the list are all gunning for BIGFOOT. To beat the man you got to first be the man and here is a list of those that want to step it up and whisk the glory away from BAD BOY.

BARBARIAN:
This truck is probably one of the toughest around. Devin Jones from Oklahoma has beat this thing to death but it just keeps on keeping on. Jones is not afraid. He has those cold gunfighter eyes when he sits behind the wheel and while kind of a quiet guy he is everything but that!
RAZIN KANE
Chris Laguna is from Florida. His business partner J.R. has a few words to tell him before each run and it basically is something like GO FOR IT! That is what they do. Whether it is racing on Freestyle this big Chevy motor is on the rev limiter!
WAR EAGLE
Mike Barnes is probably one of the nicest guys you would ever meet on or off the track. His first experience with monsters was a great looking ride truck. Mike always wanted a race truck and after about 3 years with a ride truck and working night and day he finally had the finances to do what he wanted. His family and friends are all behind him and he has many fans across the US. Watch him stand that thing on the tailgate every run and you will be one also.
AMSOIL SHOCK THERAPY
John Zimmer has been driving this truck and has become legendary already in his young carriers. Zimmer is from the East Coast and he is looking forward to coming back to Kansas where a win he thinks he is owed. Brandon LaGarde from New Orleans owns the truck and by far this is one of the biggest and best independent race teams on the circuit.
EXCALIBUR
This is a legendary name in the monster truck world. Legends are made out of legendary performance and EXCALIBUR has for nearly 20 years been at the top of the monster truck lists of all-time greats. This Chevrolet powered EXCALIBUR has a new style chassis with all the right stuff and who knows it might be time to see this truck seize a win over a long time bitter rival BIGFOOT. The driver of Excalibur has not been revealed yet, supposedly it is a former Bigfoot driver come to steal the thunder from his old employer.
Part of the night will be the Tuff Truck Races and this year we are going to throw a little mud bog in the middle of the track to make it even more interesting. The tuff trucks in Garden City and Western Kansas are entertaining to say the least. Wait till you see these old farm trucks get some big air!

ATV 4 wheeler Quad Races are both nights also and this gives another chance for local drivers and riders to be part of the show.
Free entry fee on Saturday if you run on Friday night for both the Tuff Trucks and the Atv’s this year.

With local racers and all this professional talent this makes Garden City the host of the Largest Motorsports Event in Western Kansas in 2010.

2. Hot Rod Truck N Tractor Pulling! Pullers from aross the state will go head to head for the money, the trophies, and the GLORY! Three classes will be in competition. The Hot Rod Tractors, and Hot Rod Two Wheel drive trucks, and the Street stock Challenge for Hot Rod Diesel and Gas burning pickups 3/4 ton and above. Anyone may enter!
3. Plus wait till you see the Dirt Track Race Cars broadslie around the track. Rack em and stackem these guys might just use each other for traction!

Get ready to laugh and smile! Wow what a show and it is going to be fun for everyone!

Racers and pit crew can registar on Sunday after 3pm. Pit passes available at the registration gate from 3pm to 6pm.
Hot Laps begin at 5pm and free pit party begins at 6pm where spectators in the VIP section may come down and see the racers up close.

Miller Lite presents the POWER FEST 2010 and this is going to be something you want to see.

North Platte, Nebraska get ready!!

The Monsters are coming 7:30pm Saturday night August 21st.

The heartland of the United States is full of hard working people who like their trucks, and most seem to like Ford’s best.

We got a Ford coming – the KING OF THE MONSTER TRUCKS the one and only BIGFOOT! BIGFOOT has 4 touring race trucks and the winner of the National Championships in 2009 and 2010. The race driver is Larry Swim and he is known for his talent for driving and his courage in freestyle car crushing action. Swim has never been in the North Platte area before and this will be a first for BIGFOOT also.

Joining the night of Champions is BOUNTY HUNTER. Jimmy Creten from Kansas won the World Finals in Las Vegas a couple of years ago and he is known for his mega horsepower. Also BARBARIAN’s driver Devin Jones from Oklahoma is one tough cookie in this business. Nothing scares him and no jump is too tall for him to hit wide open. RAZIN KANE Chris Laguna is from Florida. Chis is just as apt to tear off his tail gate because he is out to make a name for himself. WAR EAGLE is from Atlanta and this will be his first time also in North Platte and again another guy making a name for himself. Watch Mike Barnes- this guy is nothing but nice and personable, but he knows one way and that is WIDE OPEN!

Local riders with their ATV Quad 4 wheelers are always entertaining and also they have a blast racing in front of the huge crowd. Also local hot rodders can race their street truck or Jeep type vehicles in the Tuff Truck Races. Racing one at a time over an obstacle course against the stop watch racing for trophies and cash and the cheers from their friends and family.

Tickets will be on sale soon and we will have more information on where to purchase and the prices for this huge event at the Wild West Arena in North Platte, Nebraksa.

We were scheduled to put on a demo derby during the METRA FAIR on Saturday August 14th. That event has been canceled due to other events that have to use the grandstand which leaves us with no facility to do our demo derby.

Keep your cars and combines and get ready because we shall come back maybe later this year.

The MONSTER TRUCK SUMMER NATIONALS are coming to MAINE!! This is the first time CFP has been any of the New England part of the U.S. and in Caribou they better get ready beause we are going to light this place up! The SPUD SPEEDWAY will host this metal crunching mayhem and it’s going to be 2 to 3 hours of monsterous fun!

To start it off the line-up of this show features the only Maine Monster Truck the CRUSHSTATION. The CRUSHSTATION has the replica body of a Lobster on his truck and the fans love it. With homestate hero Greg Winchenbach driving watching him this is a thrill of a lifetime. No matter if it sibe by side monster trucks racing and or the monsters crushing cars the line-up of trucks including Greg’s truck is off the hook.

There is also a monster truck that for a small fee you get to ride in one and look at the track those monsters will be racing on!

Bringing big name monster trucks to our events like CRUSHSTATION, BACK DRAFT, WAR EAGLE, ERADICATOR, SCREAMIN DEMON, AND RAZIN KANE is what we do. All of these trucks have never been to SPUD SPEEDWAY and all trucks have had plenty of television coverage and we are excited to bring these guys to town!

Racers from all over the state of Wyoming and Montana and probably western South Dakota will make the trek to the race and they will not be disappointed with the huge track and some knarly sections that will challenge even the best riders.
