On Wednesday when we arrived here in Billings the weather was terrible.  It was barely 40 degrees and windy and raining.  For several days everyone was wondering if we would be able to to our Red Neck Nationals event outside in front of the METRA grandstands as planned.   Then Saturday came and the sun came out as the Lord shined his blessings on us the Red Necks turned out and we partied like crazy with MUD RACING, ROLL OVER CONTEST, DEMO DERBY, SHOW N SHINE, AND TUFF TRUCKS and the show was awesome!

The Montana and Northern Wyoming crowd was awesome with over 4,000 fans in the stands we all had a good time with plenty of crashing, mud flying, some awesome jumps by the tuff trucks, and just overall every part of the show was something special.

We would like to thank all the competitors, fans, the METRA crew, the Galloping Goose Motorcycle Club, Hacksaw and Lee, and the crew from the demo derby that kept things rolling.  We also have two great sponsors the BOOT HILL INN and SUITES with Shelly and her crew are just awesome to us, and the bunch from City Towing, and Billings Collision Repair.

We are coming back indoors to the Rim Rock Auto Arena at the METRA on Saturday night November 2nd and we have something really special coming then.   As always we try to keep things interesting by changing it around and this time in November it will be off the hook also!

Thanks again!

LARRY QUICK – GHOST RYDER MONSTER TRUCK

After a 4 month struggle the 2013 Monster Truck Grand National Championship was decided in Pocatello last Saturday night April 6th inside the huge Holt Arena.

Larry Quick driving the GHOST RYDER monster truck from Illinios was on top of his game and although taking a controversial loss to Zach Adams in the racing final he fought back to gain the huge 6 foot tall trophy and the title.

As the two came off the line it was Zach Adams in his Ford Rislone DEFENDER that took the win after Larry thought something was the matter with the lights,” when we took off the light was green and then it went off and I thought maybe there was a problem or a restart so I let off the throttle.  When I figured it out that nothing was wrong Zach had too much of a lead to catch up, but I will be back in freestyle to win the Championship!”

Zach Adams takes the 2013 Grand Nationals as the Race Champion but as Larry said there was Freestyle with equal points.  Earlier Quick had won Wheelie Contest so it was just about a for sure that he would take the Championship.  But when Zach ran his freestyle it was apparent he was not laying down!  “We are off for two months so I am not worried about my truck getting tore up we are going for it!”  Zach was hitting nearly everything and getting some huge air but there was one thing he did not hit and that was this “INSANE DOUBLE JUMP”  where a huge steep 8 foot tall ramp was designed to shoot the trucks high in the air to either clear a set of cars or land on them.  Zach got a great score of 24 with 3 sets of 8′s by the judges who had seemed to be tough all night.

Then it was Quick’s turn after Bigfoot driver Rick Long went out and did a great job in BIGFOOT #11.  Larry was on the gas screaming the motor as he attacked one obstacle and jump after the other.  He had no mercy on his little black mustang as he stood on the gas and landed cross ways and on the front end then on the back end he was all over the place and then he aligned himself up and went “INSANE!”   Not once by twice he hit that jump with the first time he landed in the cars and nearly rolled.  The second attempt he was going probably 60mph and flew with a perfect launch over the cars and the crowd came to their feet!  Judges of course had no numbers other than 10′s to give him and he locked up the Championship!!

Congratulations to the “Hardest working man in Monster Trucks”  many time fan favorite Larry Quick for being the MONSTER TRUCK GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPION for 2013!

Also for a hard fought battle to Zach Adams in his Rislone Defender for bringing in 2nd place in the Championship.   Third place was also another Truck Wurks Team member Dallas Barr in the Bar’s Leak Eliminator.

Summer is here and many race tracks and speedways are gearing up for hopefully the best season ever.   Good News for the County and State fairs who are scrambling for new entertainment.  We at Checkered Flag Productions can offer truly the best in Monster Truck Shows and Monster Ride Trucks.

You can quit looking you have found your solution……..we have something for all race tracks and fairs.  If your group has been thinking about what it would cost or how you can get involved in Monster Trucks, Mud Bogs, Thrill Shows, Arenacross and Motocross Races we are your one stop source.  With 40 years of putting on events like this and more there is no one anymore in touch with what your race track or Fair might need and how to make it work.

Packages for entertainment at your venue are available with a wide sweep of costs to fit almost any budget and time slot you might have.

Race tracks sometimes don’t need a whole 3 hours of show.  Sometimes at our race tracks we provide special attractions and backed up with our marketing expertise there is no other promotion group that knows how to help.  CFP was awarded World of Outlaw Track of the Year and Promoter of the Year in 2009 for our management of Dodge City Raceway Park.  That means we know race tracks and know how to help you make your track work better.

CFP also has been involved in many a county fair and State Fairs.   We have provided events for some of the largest including the Kansas State Fair, Nebraska State Fair, Iowa State Fair, Colorado State Fair, Wyoming State Fair, Montana Metra Fair just to name a few.

Race tracks we have provided shows for are some of the top including Dixie Speedway in Atlanta who has drawn over 10,000 people at our events and broke all records in their over 50 years of being a race track.  Most of the time we work side by side with your team to market our event and also help promote your other events while our fans are at your facility, while sometimes we take on all the promotion and marketing while you are working on your other projects.

We are waiting to talk to you about your needs or wants and will make sure wherever we are our first priority is to bring in people to help fill the stands and our goal is coming back year after year.

Here is the Mud Race safety switch that we require on your racer if you are going to compete at CFP Mud Races.

Please use this as a guide to hook your racer up for the automatic shut off kill switch so we can hopefully have safe indoor mud races.  There are no gaurantees this will shut off your truck before you crash so drivers must be aware that things can go wrong.

This rendition was sent to us by one of our mud races,  Jeff McCue & “THE BOMB”.

 Thanks JEFF!
